Beginner Kathak

Overview

We're bringing to you this class in an effort to help propagate and create a deeper understanding of traditional Kathak and the Jaipur Gharana.
This class is for beginners and will constitute Kathak basics, along with a semi classical choreography. It’s an ongoing course and students will appear for exams through Prayag Sangit Samiti in India if they wish to continue learning further.

The class includes:

12 in person classes
2 virtual theory classes
A semi classical choreography
Exam in the summer for those who continue learning till spring 2026
Certificate by Prayag Sangeet Samiti, India
Exam and costume rental fee not included

Schedule

Saturdays: 12PM to 1PM
Fall Semester: Sept 20 to Dec 13, 2025

Spring Semester: Jan 17 to Apr 18, 2026

Recital: April 19, 2026
Cost: $253 (includes credit card fee)

Virtual Advanced Kathak

Overview

We're bringing to you the experienced and acclaimed, Anjana Kumari in an effort to help propagate and create a deeper understanding of traditional Kathak and the Jaipur Gharana.
This is our advanced level class so join if you have some past experience in the dance form. It's an ongoing course and students will appear for exams through Prayag Sangeet Samiti if they wish to continue learning further. However, certificates will be sent to all those who complete this semester with us. The students will be taught:

Thaat
Uthaan
Aamad
Krishna Vandana
A short Semi-classical choreography
